Trips to the surroundings

When you visit Hluboká, you surely can not miss the hunting castle Ohrada, that is only 2km away from the town. It is the oldest woodcraft and hunting museum in the world. It was founded in 1842 and you will find such expozits as the attire of the deer killed in 1730. You will see the exposition of the woods life, timber harvesting, historic guns or fishpond cultivation.

Originally it was a hunting castle. Nobility in Hluboká loved the hunts. Chambers of the castle are richly decorated and it is one of the largest baroque complexes in Czech Republic.
